Hi everyone, I've been lurking about on the forums for a few weeks now, and, given that I have a couple of questions, I thought it was time I made a post to say hello Smile

My name's Andy, and am a 27 year old male living in Perth, Australia. Currently studying marketing (deferred for his semester, but continuing next year), and I also happen to enjoy cross-stitching - it's a relaxing de-stress activity for me Smile It's a hobby I had as a young kid, and I recently picked it up again thanks to my sister-in-law. My favourite types of patterns to do are fantasy/mythology patterns, such as wizards, dragons, fae, etc.

Now on to the couple of questions (well, just 1 for the moment, really): I recently received a pattern booklet that requires coloured Aida, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for websites that do online sales of aida (both white and coloured) and that do international shipping?

If anyone can make a suggestion on that one, it would be well appreciated Smile I look forward to posting on the forums more often Big Grin

Andy

G'day Andy and welcome to the forum. Nice to have another male on here and another Aussie to boot! I only ever use Antique White aida and I purchase by the metre online from VicStitch who are in QLD. You could try them for your requirements.

Thank you all for the warm welcome - it's good to see there's a helpful community here (especially one that doesn't find the idea of men who enjoy cross-stitching to be overly strange *grins*)

I've decided to trial the folks at www.sewandso.co.uk for the coloured Aida, and I'll stick with VicStitch for the regular stuff. VicStitch is where I got my Water Wizard pattern from, and as soon as the navy aida gets here, I'll be starting work on him (something I'm very much looking forward do!)

Hi Andy, and welcome to the forum. I've seen the Water Wizard design and admire you working on navy aida - I've tried using black and I didn't enjoy it. Keep us posted with photos of your progress Smile

Hi Andy
Welcome to the forum and it is always nice to see another new stitcher wether they are male or female. Dont forget to use a good light while stitching on your dark aida. Some people have said it may be easier to stitch with a piece of white paper on your lap to see the holes.
Look forward to seeing your wips

Hello Andy and welcome. I was going to suggest Sewandso too. I always use them they have a huge range of products and are usually very fast at delivering. Not sure how long for Australia though mind you.
