next week on wed and thursday they are on strike so my kids now finish school on tuesday, as if the hols werent long enough anyway.

Im in Newcastle, thought it would be country wide again, they just handed us a little letter yesterday telling us, im off to check the bbc site,

ok cant find any mention of it anywhere but they are deffinately on strike at our school so might be worth checking with yours just in case

in a lot of schools it is not the teachers who are on strike but teaching assistants, cleaners and kitchen staff. it is people who are in unison

Yeah ours is the same, the support staff on strike so school closed weds and thurs.

Yes, Unison has called a strike for next Wednesday and Thursday. I voted against the strike, not because I don't agree with what they're striking about but because we can't afford to lose two days pay. I don't think anyone in our school is stiking so we will be open as usual.

Our school's not on strike but some of the local ones are.....and an event we were doing with the Nursery kids has had to be rearranged because of it.

We're not far from you Emma, and my 2 break up the following week, Wed 23rd. My eldest is off to middle school so she's going back a week earlier than my youngest, she only gets 5 weeks hols!! That'll save me some money Big Grin

tillys school is too but she has to go back on the friday Roll Eyes which seems pointless to me, Jades however is not as i have just had a text from them saying that if any students DO NOT attend their absenses will not be authorised, so when i tell her tonoght i feel that it is not going to go down too well Eek but tilly will love it Razz
