My BIL is crazy about little plastic/lead soldiers, he has been since he was a child. Well went in our local charity shop and there was a box of Britains plastic soldiers with metal bases, I knew right away that those were from the 70s and were not cheap to buy now, I picked them up, about 60 in total and took them to the counter expecting to pay maybe about £40-60 for them and Mrs Bell who has known me since I was a young tearaway said just give me a £1, well I never, and I had to borrow the £1 from Mrs P as I never had my wallet with me, so my BIL is one happy bunny tonight, its nice wehn you make someones day.

I love it when you got to the Charity shop and you find something that you would like or for someone you know.. I bet your BIL is going to be very happy.
For my BIL its certainly is an early Xmas, its not to often now that you find things like that as charity shops now check out older stuff to see if its worth anything, it good in one way that the charity profits but bad as you hardly ever get a bargain buy now, same with kilts, I have seen charity shops asking around £100 for a kilt, alright its much cheaper than buying one, but I think they do get a wee bit expensive at times.
Funny you should say that Lemon, we were going along to see my Mum and pass this shop and Mrs P said are you going to have a look and I said I could not be bothered, then she said there may be a set of silver bagpipes just waiting for you and that was that LMAO.
Oooo, that is a bargain. The charity shops around here are getting really greedy and the prices are dearer than if you go to Primark or one of the superstores for clothes.
Alison you are correct there, I have seen them selling plain T Shirts for about £2-3 and you can get 3 from Marks for under a tenner. I think they are quite greedy to. The one I got these out of is along our street and they are always very low priced as the rental of the shop must be a lot cheaper then the high st ones.
