with my next door neighbour. Cheeky mare told me I had to mend the fence as the dog keeps sneaking into her garden. I would not mind but had offered her last Autumn to go halves with her on a new fence ( and thats just buying the equitment we would build the fence). Well we had not heard from her and she kept avoiding me when she saw me. We did my site and just fit 2 panels to her sides for privacy.

She insisted I do her whole fence too. Told her to bog off as it is her fence and she needs to repair it and keep it in good shape. Also told her if the dog comes over and makes m... not to call me anymore for cleaning it up.
So angry Mad

Oh dear! Basically, if it's HER boundary fence, then it's for her to sort out, but if it's YOUR boundary fence, unfortunately it is for you to sort.

It must be difficult to dog-proof a garden.

I fell out with my neighbours years ago (at a different house). They had a go at me about my cats going into their garden when their rabbit was running about their garden - LOOSE!!!!!!

I never spoke to them again!

Its her boundary and I have been very reasonable, going and cleaning up after the dog, even offering to share cost. But she was having non of it.
Went into fishwife mode with me. Big Grin
I was not having any of it. Big Grin
So the ball is in her court now and I just wait and see but wont go over and clean after the dog anymore.

Seems you have been fair if you offered to share cost with her - what with it being her fence.
Is there any way you can prop something up your side to stop the dog getting through?

WIP : Frederick the Literate.

We used to have a neighbour like that until one day a man down the road got a shovel and put all the dog mess he could find and throw it on their garden, they stopped the dogs after that Big Grin

I have blocked all the holes with wooden planks and flowerpots, but she is very intelligent and finds new way, even goes over the wire fence.

Alison I have put on old iron headbord and some wood across the holes but as she is very intelligent and really strong, she moves them.
Ans as it is only a small wire fence
