when a design says 2 over 2 on 32 count linen, does it mean 2 strands, over every 2 holes?

thanks in advance! x

no, it means 2 strands over 2 threads in the linen/evenweave....think off it as a box with 3 holes across and 3 holes down..it adds up to 3 rows off 3 holes (9 hole in all) wish i could show a pic, but that would cover 2 threads
