I work with someone who has had problems with her boys aged 18 and 15 trying drugs but that did all get sorted out.Well yesterday my eldest ds came home with the news his mates that the youngest boy is definately selling drugs and people think that the older one is involved aswell! My first instinct was to phone Ann and tell her but now I'm not so sure as she's had a lot of health issues lately that are finally being resolved and yesterday at work was the happiest she's been for weeks, so do I keep quiet or do I have a quiet word and risk it making her ill?

This is a hard one, would you want to know.. I think I would tell her. It wont do her health any good if this goes to far and the boys get in to deep. I would also tell the mother to tell the police because the boys are getting the drugs from someone up the higher scale.
With out sounding crul the boys just might need a scare to make and stop and think and also you dont want them selling to any other children

Yes I think I would want to know if one of mine was involved in something like that it's finding the right way to tell her that worries me.

I won't see her again until Tuesday when we work together so I'll have to try and find a quiet moment when there's noone around as the others I work with are lovely but they do like to know about everything that's going on.

We have to have lunch on duty about 20 minutes unless it's a really quiet day as only 3 or 4 of us work on any particular day so the only other really quiet time is after lunches are finished and the others are outside on their ciggie break

Hello every one, Crazymum46, it's not nice to have that on your mind. I have been a coach of swimming for a number of years and have had girls come to me with their problems or with worries about the other swimmers. I found that going to their school was good in some cases. The dean or school counsellor is a good start. They are able to make inquiries and support the student to make a good (or better) decisions.

I was going to suggest contacting the school too. Your friend might not like you telling her and you'd be 'shot as the messenger' if you get my drift - better to let someone else handle it if you value her friendship.
