Oh Joanne, I know that feeling very well, though it is through the fault of someone else who uses this board!

At least most of the oldies can spell, puctuate and use capital letters. LOL!!! This is a bug bear of mine as I hate to see the english language become text speak and I hate bad grammer-no matter how many exams they say they have passed.
Right- off soapbox now.
Morning Janice. Is Andrew back to school today or is he back already? Good luck to him whenever it is. Angela still has another month off before she starts at Glasgow University so has a part time job at B&Q.
Are you going to the SECC in October as I got the leaflet in the post last week and I am thinking about it?

I've been here forever (or so it seems) Helen and sometimes I don't get any replies either so don't take it to heart. Keep on visiting as it is a good place to be most of the time. Razz

Pat I shouldn't worry, You can always put something like 'This may not be a very popular opinion' or 'Justr my thoughts'... after all, that's what it is... it's your opinion, and as far as I'm aware, we still live in a relatively free society, where people are entitled to their own opnions, surely??

Just my thoughts Big Grin

I hereby declare that all of the participants of this thread stand guilty of failing to "kill the thread" by their very presence.

It thereby follows that I have only added to said crime by participating myself and therefore have also failed in my duty to be a thread killer. Confused Wink Razz

I did a TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language)course a few years ago and one of the things I learned is that for the last 35 years grammer hasn't been taught in schools because 'progressive' teaching methods made it unfashionable, they assumed kids would simply absorb the rules by osmosis Roll Eyes, the government have reintroduced it in the last few years, but too late for me, that's the reason my grammar is so appalling. I even bought the book by Lynne Truss to improve mine, but I still struggle with it.

*puts hand up..*

Although I am guilty of just reading and not posting for an absolute age. I get all paranoid if I post something and no-one has replied and its not necessarily on this board either.
