It appears that the DSS made a mistake and thought he was in Hospital, well we only included letters from the homes doctor at Bandrum and the manager with letterheads etc and someone could not figure out he was in a long term care home rather than hospital. He will of course get it backdated, cannot believe how they thought he was in hospital with all the backup paperwork we submitted.

Sorry to hear that you are having loads of trouble. HAd the same thing trying to get a grant to have my Brother in Law's Step son (very long winded) house changed as he had a accident and now has full time care and is paralized from the next down.
Hopefully everything is sorted now and you will get everything that you are intitled to.

We are very careful with his money, but then again he is careful also, its sometimes difficult, like last year he wanted a gold chain, but it would have made a massive dent in his savings, so we suggested that he save another few months and then get it, he did and he got it, now its to tight for him to wear as he has put weight on, feel awkward when having to say what he can or cant afford, but we do the best by him, we think. Mind he has spent more of my money this last year than his own.
like you said before Tich .. you wouldnt want it any other way ... be honest now ... Jules insurance comes out when she is 21 next year .. she doesnt know what to buy with it ... Laz is the year after .. she wants a mini cooper........told her what she wants and what she can afford is another matter....lol mind you our Bones bought her 1st car with her insurance when she was 18 [ she only lost I think £200 by closing it early ...] but she was off to Uni so needed transport
