I just wondered who had ever won a competition or lottery that was worth something...even winning a prize at school etc

my first prize was back at school, i was first in my secretarial studies...i got an A then, and was top off my class back in 1978 (looonnnngggg time ago) prizegiving at big school hall etc..my head was like 3 times the size it is now (god im 45 u know it shrinks...hehehe)(i was 16)

my second ever win, was a competition ( i was 18?) in the scottish daily record for a video called ricochet (spelt wrong) by David Bowie, all you had to do was name the day he played here at Murrayfield, and I won...the only problem was
I DIDNT OWN A VIDEO RECORDER TO WATCH IT!! gave it too my big brother's wife who was an avid fan and had a video lol.

so little wins on the lottery came and went..until recently

I posted this already, i was at a caravan show in Larbert, and entered a comp for a free service on my tourer caravan...and i won!...
i just wish it was a personal service...i could be doing with one!!lmao..

and so im still trying the odd one on tv, where u text in the answer and dont win...

so what have you peeps won? that is even better than my pitiful wins????

Was a long time ago now but I seem to remember winnning lots of prizes at school. Books etc. Was a bit of an academic back then. As an adult the main thing has been lottery wins. Lots of minor prizes and one 2nd division win 8 years ago. And me being the idiot I am gave it all away thinking if I did I'd get it back tenfold - yeh right!

Oh and I won about 6 prizes from Cross Stitch Crazy. Big Grin

It was about 5years ago they had a raffle at work when they had replaced all the computers on site and had one in a raffle..
James was working overseas that week and I bought a ticket which was only 20p.
I won , it was a little dated but my first computer and I loved it.

I won a jar of jelly babies and 2 cinema tickets at the agency I was getting work from. I had to guess the number of jelly babies in the jar and I got the closest number.

I gave the jelly babies to MIL as I don't like them then me and hubby went to the cinema, can't remember which film it was though, it was around 9 years ago.

Only had the occasionally small lottery win. Other than that, I'm not a very lucky person.

I am not one for winning and over the years I only won a few times. I was 7 when I won a prize from our local Bank. Binoclulars Frown
Then nothing for years and years. Lately I have won 3 prizes. Twice sented Coathangers Big Grin and of course Pipers frame. Which was the first useful win ever Big Grin

Only things I've ever won are a small casserole dish in a raffle, and a weekly bus ticket in a school fete at my daughters school, and the very occaisonal £1 on a lottery scratch card.
