Hi, I'm Gill, 63 in august and married to John for 40 years. We have 3 children Tim, Sally and Kirsty and three granddaughters Elsie, Annie and Lola. We are both mediums and I am also a spiritual healer and reiki practitioner. We run a spiritual group called Spiritworks every Thursday in Westcliff. I like to cross stitch but haven't been doing much lately due to hand surgery. I'm also into cardmaking

Hi, I'm Elaine. I'm 44 years young and married to Jack for 22 years. We have a daughter Angela who is 18 and studying Virology at Glasgow University. I'm a Staff Nurse working on the Nurse bank for Glasgow Health Board part time, but I dont really enjoy it and am keeping my options open for the future.
Got into cross stitch by accident 19 years ago by accident as I bought a kit and was shocked when the canvas was blank but a very kind neighbour put me right and I was hooked. I dont like little projects like cards or cover kits from the mags. I like them the bigger and more difficult the better. Am working on a Lavender and Lace at the mo but its a bit too easy. My masterpiece is a scene of New York skylint complete with twin towers as seen from the Brooklyn Bridge-its one of those designs that looks like a photo from a distance. 6 months work and pride of place on the wall facing me at the mo.

I'm Zarina, 41, living in Cape Town, South Africa after living my whole life in London, England up until September last year. Married to Robert for 13.5 years (although we've been together over 18 years and best friends for almost 20), no children (they are *so* for other people) but we have a cat and parents!

I have my own integrated marketing company over here, I'm Creative Services Director, sounds good but it's no different to anything else I've done. Basically I've worked in publishing for years and been everything from a writer, sub, production manager, editor, publisher, show director...

Hobbies include cross stitching (been doing it around 13 years now and one day I'll manage to stitch some things for myself), hardanger, blackwork, needlepoint and other crafts such as card making. I'm a real film buff, love to read, play games (board, computer, console), internet junkie, cooking/baking, music (but not done any music since moving here).

Busy doing stuff to our house - we've just had a second storey put on part of it so our bedroom will be moving up there and we're just having a few other bits done so I'm in a building site (again) which isn't conducive to stitching!

Hi

I'm Marcia, I'm 44 and born and raised in North West London. I live with my sister (we're really close even though she doesn't cross stitch) am happily single, no children, but if Mr Right came along I wouldn't say no.

I work 4 days a week for a small charity, I manage their database and also do their finances.

Learnt to cross-stitch at school but stopped after a few years. Came back to it as my previous job was very stressful and I also had health problems so wanted to do something inexpensive and yet relaxing. Been addicted ever since.

Cross-stitching is pretty much my only hobby, I like reading and am a bit of a movie buff, I love coming on here seeing all the fabulous work people do, I find it really inspiring and all the tips I've picked up have helped improve my own stitching enormously. Everyone is so nice and friendly too.

I am Alison, 38 and married to Chris for 5 months, but been together over 16 years!! I have 3 children, but only the youngest at home - Edward who is nearly 11.
We have a mad staffordshire bull terrier called Pippa, an old cat who is 16 called Spice and a hamster called Sebastian.
I do cross stitch when I get time, but working 3 days a week and doing a college course as well takes my time.
Lovely thread to hear about everybody else.

Well, I have to add my tuppence worth!

I'm Merna, 27, married for 3 years to Arnold, 48, been together 5 altogether. I live in Birmingham but I was born and spent my early childhood in Germany. We have no children and no plans for any either. Unfortunately we can't have pets as we live in a flat but I'm a big softie when it comes to anything canine. However, a stray cat has adopted me and I call it Scraps, to which it actually answers (!)
As regards religious persuasion, I used to be very hung up on labels and call myself a Zen Buddhist but nowadays I find myself practising an eclectic mixture of Buddhism, Paganism, Druidry, Hinduism, Sikhism and Islam - confusing I know but I know what I'm doing - honest Wink
I was a teacher teaching 11 - 16 year olds until nearly 2 years ago when a nervous breakdown resulting in diagnosis of Bipolar Affective Disorder rendered me unable to work. I'm still at the 'learning to manage' stage and classed as 'unstable' (nice word huh?!)
Work for me now consists of channeling my energies into my fledgling writing career and also my fledgling clairvoyance career.
Both are taking off at frightening speed and I'm just waiting to see which one overtakes the other.
I have a huge interest in the paranormal and supernatural, reading, writing, cross stitch, blogging, home making and baking.

Haitsu
