Hi all,
I'm Sam, I'm 33 and I live in Bedfordshire with my boyfriend Andy and our 6 cats. I had 3 cats when he and I moved in together and we've just added the extras. The smallest, but not youngest is sat with me now. I'm a Textiles teacher, although I'll never claim to be an expert or anything. I've only just put my threshold stuff in - writing about how good I am, eek! My hobbies include, cross stitch(obviously), patchwork, toy making, actually just making stuff, reading,(Yes, I've read the latest Harry Potter), CSI, reiki,(I'm naughty I don't practise enough),and re-enactment,(The Sealed Knot English Civil Wat Society). I'm also step mum, sort of, not married to boyfriend, to Alex 14 and Jake 11. I've been stitching/making stuff for years since my Mum taught me when I was about 5 ish.
Sam x

Hello everyone! I registered recently and have been lurking, but have decided that although I may not stitch fast and may not be as skilled as many of you are, it's time for me to start posting. My name is Katia and I'm 25 years old from near Toronto, Canada. I live with my DH and two cats and work full-time as an Executive Assistant. I'm also working toward a Master of Education degree at the same time, so I'm quite busy. When I do have some free time, I love to cross-stitch, knit, scrapbook, make cards, and sew from time to time. I also enjoy dancing, working out, hiking, camping, canoeing, writing short stories and letters, reading good classic and modern fiction and spiritual literature, watching good films, cook and baking yummy food, and spending time with my family and friends.

Hi I'm Cathy, nearly 43, married to Jonathan for almost 19 years. Four children, Charlotte 17, Sam 15, Harry and Alice aged 11. A broken black lab called Alfie aged also reeks havoc and destruction with us.

I like cross stitch, knitting, reading, playing Scrabble on Facebook and walking.

I'm not in paid employment at the moment but spend a day a week at my lovely local first school listening to readers in reception class and year 1. I also help out with craft stuff and cooking for the year 1's.

Worked in the craft world with Debbie Cripps for 3 years.

I am very good at buying beautiful kits and threads Smile

What a good idea - I have enjoyed reading all about you.

I am Maggie (used to be Margaret to Mother but hate the name) and I am 66 in September. I have been married to Jeff for 47 years in October and we have 4 grown children, Simon (45 in October), Stuart (44 in September) Tanith (42) and Jeremy (36). There are 5 grandchildren, Karen (21) and Jake (18) belong to Stuart, Lily (11 in October) and Maisie (6) belong to Simon and Tanith has Thomas (3 in September).

I love crafting and have stitched since I was about 4 when I learnt to do surface embroidery with my Granma. I do cross stitch, blackwork, crewel work and canvas work (plus other oddments as and when) and am going to do hardanger on Saturday. I also enjoy making stamped cards having been introduced to stamping by a friend about 18 months ago. I crochet, have done tatting and can knit. Used to do macrame and straw dolly making with guides and brownies as well as applique work when I was a guide and brownie guider years ago.

We have two dogs, a l4 month lurcher called Freyni and a rescue Patterdale terrier of indeterminate age called Sally. We think she is between 4 and 7 years old. We also have four old cats aged 16, 15 and two at 13. I am having a new kitten at end of September to replace the 3 cats we lost through old age last year.

I read a terrific amount and also like history and walking. I sing with two choirs which I enjoy very much. I retired from being a Conveyancer with a legal firm last September and wonder how I found time to go to work. I recently did 5 weeks holiday cover at my old firm and it was horrendous, I was absolutely worn out.

I am now enjoying the forum greatly, having had difficulties getting to grips with you all.

Love Maggiemay. xx

I am Katie, German, 36 last May, I live with Paul from the UK and two gorgeous cats in a rented flat. I love cross-stitching and try to make more time for it, the internet and my computer, reading, sleeping, walking, shopping, talking on the phone, listening to music, and loads more. Can't be bothered with cooking (I have other talents nudge nudge wink wink), but I love baking and am very much into Tupperware and LUSH. Favourite film stars are Nicolas Cage, MM, Al Pacino, and Meryl Streep. I am also a member of an amateur dramatics group and we hold two productions each year in English.

Hi I am brand new joined about 1 hour ago. I sent Steph a messege about her beautiful cross stich work. I really did not have a clue what I was doing & it ended back up in my file type thingy Red Face Red Face Mad Confused I am so sorry. But just to let me say again how beautiful they ALL where especially your birth sampler & the dolphin they are gorgeous. As I said I have 3children & 3grandchildren. Charlotte 3 1/2, Harry 18months & Summer 6 months today. I only see Summer as the other children live down South Frown& I am in Liverpool. I have a bowel & eating disorder which prevents me from going not very from the house. But I have loads of pictures to keep me company. I have a partner of 11 even years Ronnie he is wonderful I don't know what I would do without him. I love x stitch but have only been doing it for 3 months so can only do patterns with whole x stitches in. I would learn how to do it properly. I also make greeting cards. anyway this will take an eternity to read hope I haven't bored you. Take Care

Hi my name is Gemma and I have been on the forum a little over a week now. I am 25 and have been married to my lovely Conrad for 6 yrs. We have 3 children - Jessica who is 6, Katie who is 3 and Conrad Jr who is 2. We have 2 gerbils - Bonnie and Clyde - Jessica named them (although I haven't a clue how she knows the names Bonnie and Clyde at her age)lol. I live 3 doors away from my mum and dad in the street I grew up in which is lovely, the school is at the bottom of the street so just got to fall out of bed in the mornings, no rushing and no worrying about having to get the little ones dressed (I hate mornings lol) I have been cross-stitching for about 10 years and I still haven't got a piece of my own anywhere yet, too busy stitching for family and friends. I am about to embark on a huge project which is a photo of my brother and his wife which I converted into a chart. They got married in Mexico last week(very lucky they did as their wedding was 3 days late because of hurricane Dean. They are taking their vows again in the UK in December this year so I'm hoping it will be finished to give to them as their wedding present. I'll be displaying it in WIP's page. Well that's me sorry it's a bit long winded Smile Bye all and hope to chat soon.xxx
