Details for the calendar exchange. This will be a secret exchange. The design for the calendar is up to you but please remember the calendar will be up all year so a design will need to last all year around (I have asked for likes & dislikes to help pick a design for the person your stitching for).
The design size is up to you. I recommend if your using card for the back the card size to be half off A4 – which is about 15cm X 21cm (6in X 8in) OR if you want to go bigger you could go up to a full A4 – which is about 21cm X 30cm (8in X 12in). If you do, do it this way I recommend the stitch area (your fabric) to be for half off A4 about 10cm X 15cm (4in X 6in) OR for full A4 16cm X 25cm (6in X 9in). But again it is up to you how big or small you do your design – this is just an idea.
When it comes to making your calendar up I recommend using card for the back and sticking your cross stitch on the front. My idea is to use ribbon at the top so the calendar can be hung up and using ribbon to attach the calendar tab at the bottom off the card – my idea for doing this is so at the end off the year when the calendar tab is out of date you can cut the ribbon and remove the calendar tab – which then leaves you with the cross stitch picture. BUT this is just an idea – how you make up your calendar is totally up to you – if you have another way in mind free feel to do it that way.

Calendar tabs can be brought from places like WHSmiths, Wilkos, The Works Bookshop, local craft shops, etc. You can also buy them from Craft Creations and Impress Cards web sites.
